Introduction of polypropylene PP air duct material

Material: Polypropylene is abbreviated as PP, which is a colorless, odorless, non-toxic, translucent solid substance. PP polypropylene is a high-performance thermoplastic synthetic resin, a colorless, translucent, lightweight general-purpose plastic. It has excellent chemical resistance, heat resistance, electrical insulation, high-strength mechanical properties, and good high wear-resistant processing performance.

  1. No rust: PP duct can withstand the corrosion of high concentration acid and alkali with pH value ranging from 1 to 14 in a wide temperature range.
  2. Wear resistance and no scaling: The inner wall of the PP pipe and its fittings is uniform and smooth, with low flow resistance and no scaling.

PP air duct system structure

To form a complete PP anti-corrosion pipeline system, in addition to PP ducts, matching PP air duct accessories are essential. Core accessories include PP elbow, PP tee, PP reducer, PP flange, PP casing, PP air valve, which are collectively referred to as PP duct exhaust system.

PP air duct installation method

  • Socket connection: A PP sleeve is welded at the end of each air duct to facilitate the insertion of the next air duct for stable connection.
  • Flange connection: PP flanges are welded at both ends of each air duct, and the screw locking connection is adopted during installation, which is suitable for high-strength and high-sealing working conditions.
  • Reinforcement method: In industrial exhaust systems, centrifugal fans are usually installed at the end. They exhaust air and create negative pressure inside the PP air duct. Industry design specifications stipulate the required wall thickness and reinforcement method of PP air ducts under specific wind speed. Usually, PP air ducts are reinforced by outer flanges. For example, a 3-meter-long air duct is reinforced with 2 flanges, which is beautiful and durable. Large square air ducts are reinforced by outer flanges, and internal PP circular pipes are used for structural support.
